Online Lenders & Cash Advance Apps in California
Which online lenders and pay-advance apps lend to California residents, and on what legal basis: a state license, a credit services registration, or a partner bank that makes the loan. Each row links to the lender's own license page.

Lenders publish these details themselves. "Low confidence" means the license page could not be read in full on the last check, so the row relies on earlier research.
What the basis means
- California license: the company holds a California lending license from the DFPI, and California's rate caps apply to its loans.
- Credit Services Organization registration: the company is registered to arrange or help you obtain credit; the credit itself may come from someone else.
- Partner bank: a bank makes the loan and the app or website markets and services it. Bank loans can follow the bank's home-state rules instead of California's caps.
- National bank: a federally chartered bank; it does not need a state license.
Before you sign up, read the app's fee and tip terms and check its license on NMLS Consumer Access.
Sources
Each lender's California basis comes from its own published license page.
We re-check sources regularly and show the date each was last verified. Spotted a mistake? Tell us and we'll check it against the source.
CashAdvance is not a lender and does not take applications. Listings are information only, built from public records (such as state license lists) and lenders' own published details. Confirm hours, fees and terms with the lender before you visit or borrow.
