Editorial Policy
Where the information on cashadvance.io comes from, and how we check and correct it.
Who writes our content
Guides and lender listings are published under the byline CashAdvance Lending Research, the team that runs this site. When a named writer contributes an article, their name appears on it and links to their own author page.
The lender directory
Lender listings, state rules and statistics in the lender directory come from these sources:
- State regulators: licensee records, fee schedules and published reports.
- Laws and rules: state statutes, administrative rules and city ordinances, linked at the source.
- Lenders' own disclosures: posted fee schedules, rate and terms pages, license pages and store locators.
- Third-party reviews: we link to a lender's Trustpilot page where one exists and, where we could read it, show its public TrustScore and review count with the date we checked. These are Trustpilot's figures, not our ratings, and are never mixed into our own content or structured data.
Each directory fact (license status, address, hours, phone number, loan amounts, fees and state rules) is stored with its source and the date we last checked it, and directory pages show both. Where sources disagree, we show the most authoritative one: a regulator's record over a lender's website, and a lender's website over a directory listing. We re-check directory data periodically, so a store's details can change between checks; confirm with the lender before you go.
Guides and articles
Our guides are general information about borrowing, costs and consumer rights. They are not financial or legal advice, and they are not a substitute for a lender's own terms. We are reviewing and updating the guides over time, so some may not reflect the latest rules or prices. Before you rely on a figure, check the sources a guide cites, your state's rules in the lender directory, and the lender's own disclosures.
Independence
CashAdvance is an information service. We are not a lender or a broker, we do not take loan applications, and lenders cannot pay to change the facts in their listing.
Corrections
If you find an error, whether you are a reader or a lender, email info@cashadvance.io with the page address and what is wrong. We check each report against the source and correct confirmed errors.
